Pursuant to its mandate under Statute XXXI. Kabarak University has nominated Honorable Justice David Kenani Maraga for the Conferment of Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) of Kabarak University at the 19th Graduation Ceremony on Friday, December 15, 2023. The Conferment of Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) to Honorable Justice Maraga is a fitting recognition of his extraordinary contribution to our nation and the legal profession, spanning forty-five (45) years as an Advocate of the High Court, thirteen (13) years of which he spent as Judge of the High Court and Court of Appeal, and four (4) years as Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kenya.

Amidst the radiant glow of candlelight and the palpable aura of achievement, Kabarak University's School of Medicine and Health Sciences hosted a momentous ceremony at the Kabarak University K-law hall. It was an evening of Oathing, Pinning, Candle Lighting, and Graduates' Dedication Ceremony—a celebration that resonated far beyond the walls of the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplagat, extended a courtesy call today to key figures in the university's sports community. The meeting included discussions with the Sports Officer, Mr. David Langat, the outgoing Sports Director, Beryl Oyoo, and the captains of various sports disciplines, including table tennis, basketball, football, and rugby. This gathering comes on the heels of Kabarak University's triumph in the Rift Valley Championships, earning them the honor of representing the institution at the national level.

Kabarak University and the University of Ibadan, in steadfast pursuit of academic synergy and collaboration, recently witnessed a significant milestone with the arrival of two esteemed professors from the University of Ibadan onto the dynamic grounds of Kabarak University. This visit, a consequential progression from a pivotal meeting held in October, reverberated with the profound echoes of partnership and mutual learning.

Kisii University's Online Distance and E-Learning team embarked on a transformative journey to Kabarak University Online. Hosted by Dr. Moses Thiga and his adept staff, the visit was an immersion into excellence.

Kabarak University School of Law is pleased to announce the rebranding of the East Africa Community Law Journal as Jumuiya. This rebranding marks a commitment to community, reflecting the shared aspirations of East African nations. Jumuiya,  meaning community in Swahili, relates to the essence of harmonious collaboration and scholarly exploration and embodies the Kabarak commitment to developing Afrocentric and contextually relevant scholarship, along with a call for interdisciplinary research.
