Kabarak Law School to host the Africa Regional Round of the John H Jackson Moot Court Competition, 2024

In 2024, Kabarak University Law School is set to proudly host the 22nd edition of the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition, Africa Regional Round. Organized by the European Law Students Association (ELSA) in collaboration with the World Trade Organization (WTO), this event features a simulated hearing of the WTO Dispute Settlement System. Teams are tasked with preparing and analyzing a fictitious case, presenting arguments for both the complainant and the respondent before a panel of WTO and trade law experts. It serves as a platform to bolster law students' interest and expertise in international trade law, WTO dispute settlement procedures, and international trade law litigation.

‘Smile For a Smile’

In a world bustling with activity, we often overlook the small pockets of hope and resilience that exist within our communities. On October 20, 2023, MASHUJAA DAY, our students had the privilege of experiencing such a pocket of hope during a visit to Israel Faith Children's Home. The Empowerment Club, Journalism Club, and KUSO partnered for an initiative to bring smiles and happiness to the children at Israel Faith Children's Home. The initiative, 'SMILE FOR A SMILE', led by Mr. and Miss Kabarak University, aimed at raising contributions in the form of dry foodstuffs, clothing, books, and stationery to support the children at the home. The heartwarming visit involved activities such as fun and games, pageantry, talent showcasing, and sharing a meal.

Transformative Experience: Africa Youth Leadership Forum and National Prayer Breakfast in Entebbe, Uganda

Our KUSO president Miss Karen Birech and Deputy Sec Gen Gibson Kipruto had the privilege of attending the Africa Youth Leadership Forum in Entebbe, Uganda, and the National Prayer Breakfast at State House Entebbe, graced by the presence of the President of Uganda and First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto. These events were not only significant milestones in my life but also powerful testaments to the potential for youth empowerment and the role of faith in shaping a nation.

The Africa Youth Leadership Forum served as a platform for over 500 young leaders from across the continent to come together, exchange ideas, and discuss strategies for promoting sustainable development, peace, and prosperity. The diverse group of attendees brought forth a wide range of perspectives, all underscored by a common desire to drive positive change in their communities and nations. The Forum's sessions and workshops covered various aspects of leadership, from ethical decision-making to effective governance, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills essential for fostering transformative leadership.
