Driven by a commitment to continuous improvement, Hekima University, a leader in Open and Distance Learning (ODEL), recently embarked on a collaborative venture. They organized a benchmarking visit to Kabarak University's Online Department, aiming to exchange knowledge and foster collaboration in the field of online education.

The Kabarak University Department of Mass Communication, led by Dr. Michael Ndonye, recently hosted a team of representatives from the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) for an accreditation visit. The MCK team was tasked with evaluating the department's curriculum and student preparedness for careers in media and communication.

The visit included interactions with third and fourth-year undergraduate students, as well as Diploma in Mass Communication finalists. This focus ensured a comprehensive assessment of the department's ability to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge across different stages of their academic journey.

In addition to the accreditation process, the department also organized a session on applying for attachments with MCK-accredited organizations. This valuable session, planned by the department's mentorship coordinator, Mrs. Dorcas Kebenei, provided students with crucial insights into securing practical experience within the media industry.

By welcoming the MCK accreditation team and organizing the informative attachment session, the Kabarak University Department of Mass Communication demonstrates its commitment to providing students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for successful careers in the ever-evolving media landscape.

Kabarak University, led by UNESCO chair and the Corporate Communication and Marketing Manager, , participated in the official unveiling of the Ogiek community cultural center and the Learning Beyond Education (LBE) exchange program in Nkaretta, a remote area 18km into the Mau Forest in Narok County.

The National Steering Committee on Implementation of Alternative Justice Systems Policy (NaSCI-AJS) of the Judiciary of Kenya visited Kabarak University on 18 March 2024 to explore collaboration on areas of common interest. The Judiciary team consisting of Prof Justice Joel Ngugi, Chair of the NaSCI-AJS and judge of the Court of Appeal, Dr Steve Akoth, Vice Chair of NaSCI-AJS and Ms Jemimah Aluda, head of the NaSCI-AJS Secretariat. The team was met by Kabarak University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof HK Kiplangat and other members of the Management Board, Prof John Ochola (DVC – Academic and Research), Prof Ronald Chepkilot (DVC – Administration and Finance), Rev. Justus Mutuku (Ag. Provost), Dr Anthony Somba, Registrar (Academic and Research) and Prof Simon Kipchumba (Registrar, Adminsitration and Human Resource). Also in attendance were Prof J Osogo Ambani, Dean of Law at Kabarak, Rahab Mureithi, Associate Dean of Law and Humphrey Sipalla, Editor-in-Chief, Kabarak University Press.

Kabarak University made a splash at the recent Jomo Kenyatta Girls' High School Career Expo, igniting the imaginations of hundreds of students with the vast array of academic paths offered by the institution. Led by Dr. Michael Ndonye, the Kabarak University team captivated the expo with informative presentations and engaging interactions.

On Friday, March 15, 2024, Kabarak University was delighted to host a group of pre-university students from Kaptagat Girls' High School and Eshikulu Girls' High School. This stimulating visit provided a valuable opportunity for the students to gain firsthand insights into our esteemed university's academic offerings and experience the vibrant energy of our campus environment.
