The Association of Academic Registrars of Universities in Kenya (AARUK) organized a two-day sensitization workshop at Aga Khan University to educate its members about the new funding model for universities. The workshop aimed to equip academic registrars with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the funding model's implications for academic administration, quality assurance, and strategic management. The event was graced by Professor Henry Kiplangat, the Vice Chancellor of Kabarak University, who also serves as the Patron of the association together with Prof. Mary Ndung’u the Vice-chancellor Kirinyaga University. In his address, Prof. Kiplangat expressed his respect and appreciation for the academic registrars and emphasized the importance of their role in university operations.

Kabarak University has set an unprecedented standard with its impressive ranking in the prestigious 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings, announced on June 26, 2023. The university has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the 42nd position in Africa, the 4th position in Kenya, and the 1st position among private universities in Kenya.

Kabarak University Student Organization, in collaboration with the University counselors, is gearing up to host the highly anticipated annual Mental Health Awareness Campaign week. Scheduled to take place from Monday, June 26th, to Friday, June 30th, this event aims to shed light on the importance of mental health and encourage individuals to prioritize their well-being.

In the face of escalating concerns over climate change and global warming, Kabarak University partnered with Access Bank to initiate a transformative project aimed at promoting environmental sustainability on campus. Recognizing the importance of taking action at a local level, the university and the bank joined forces to embark on a tree-planting campaign, starting with the picturesque environment of Kabarak University itself. This collaborative effort not only demonstrates their commitment to environmental stewardship but also emphasizes the importance of engaging students in creating a sustainable future.

In yet another significant move towards fostering international collaboration and enhancing academic excellence, Kabarak University School of Medicine and Health Sciences recently held a productive meeting with Professor Bongani Nkambule from the University of KwaZulu-Natal's College of Health Sciences, Westville campus, South Africa. Chaired by the esteemed Dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Pamela Kimetto, the meeting resulted in talks about having a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to facilitate joint research, student exchange programs, and staff capacity-building initiatives.

Kabarak University is committed to providing holistic quality education and is hosting a three-day staff development training workshop in collaboration with Millersville University, Pennsylvania, USA. The training, titled "Intentional Teaching and Total Classroom Participation," aims to enhance the pedagogical skills of the university's teaching staff. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry Kiplangat emphasized the importance of pedagogy in creating inclusive learning environments, promoting student engagement, and aligning curriculum and assessments effectively. With esteemed facilitators from Millersville University, the training workshop aims to empower the staff to deliver higher education to their students.
