Goal of the Programme

1. To prepare advanced practice nurses to develop innovative, practical solutions to complex health problems from a scientific perspective.
2. To prepare nursing graduates who would become leaders with decision-making skills in the areas of clinical practice, education, administration, research, and community practice.
3. To provide nurses with the necessary skills to develop and test theories and conduct independent research that will contribute to the body of knowledge defining the discipline of nursing.

Mode of Delivery of the Programme

The programme is offered through Face-to-face and Blended E-learning modes. These modes allow the prospective student to fit into either of the modes that match their need. This allows the students to pursue the program without interrupting employment and to apply the new clinical skills as they practice in practicum placement at the workplace.

Minimum Entry Requirements for Master of Nursing Degree Programme

1. Must have a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Kabarak University or any other university recognized by CUE.
2. Must have at least 2 years of working experience in a relevant area. Registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya or any relevant professional regulatory body.  

In addition, BScN degree graduates who meet the above criteria must ensure that the following are submitted before admission to the University:

1. Certified University BSN transcripts; International applicants will be required to have their Transcripts/certificates verified and appraised by CUE
2. Registered nurse licensure in the country in which the candidate completed his/her practical clinical experience;
3. Supporting recommendations from at least two persons who are well acquainted with the applicant's previous academic work and professional experience.
