The Directorate of Research, Innovation, and Outreach in the Division of Academic Affairs and Research hereby advertises the 2025 call for internal research grant proposals aimed at promoting research activities within the University. The University has established an internal research fund to support faculty members with outstanding ideas to undertake research activities that address issues in education, business, religion, law, information technology, health, environment, energy, arts, and social sciences related to the Kenya Vision 2030, African Union (AU) Agenda 2063, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Kabarak University recently reinforced its commitment to academic excellence by sending a team of staff to pivotal workshops held at the Kenya School of Government, Nairobi, from September 30 to October 4, 2024. Organized and facilitated by the African Population and Health Research Center's (APHRC) Catalyze Impact Initiative, these workshops were instrumental in addressing critical challenges within Africa's research landscape. Over 140 participants from 25+ Kenyan universities attended the sessions, which focused on improving the global reach of African research outputs and empowering participants with skills to secure research funding.

Kabarak University Partners with Maseno University on AfricaNext Voices Project

Kabarak University is proud to be collaborating with Maseno University and other Kenyan institutions in the AFRICA NEXT VOICES project, a one-year pilot initiative funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The project is focused on preserving local languages through data collection, led by the KenCorpus consortium, a coalition of Kenyan universities. The aim is to create a digital corpus for five key languages spoken in Kenya: Dholuo, Gikuyu, Somali, Kalenjin (Nandi/Kipsigis dialects), and Maasai.
