On a momentous day for collaborative global initiatives, representatives of the UNESCO Chairs gathered at Strathmore University, Nairobi, for a pivotal consultative meeting. The agenda focused on formulating a joint proposal for funding and defining the way forward in advancing UNESCO's objectives.

Kabarak University, led by Professor Joel Kipkemboi Kiboss, is playing a pivotal role in the ongoing International Forum of UNESCO Chairs and Partners, convened by the African Union and UNESCO from September 30 to October 2, 2024, in Addis Ababa. The forum, themed "Transforming Knowledge for Africa’s Future," aims to foster partnerships that advance arts and culture education across Africa, highlighting the importance of integrating culture into educational systems to promote sustainable development.

On June 14, 2024, Kabarak University played a key role in shaping the future of education at the UNESCO Strategic Plan 2024-2029 stakeholder validation forum held in Nairobi. This critical forum brought together leading minds from various educational and research institutions to define UNESCO's strategic direction for the next five years.

Munyao, Kabarak UNESCO Chair Coordinator, and Dr. Jean C. Zigama, Research Coordinator, actively participated in the Annual UNESCO Chairholders' Consultative Meeting held at the Aghakhan University.

Kabarak University is proud to announce its active participation in the kick-off workshop for the implementation of the UNESCO Culture 2030 Indicators, held in Nakuru County on March 28th and 29th, 2024. This important initiative signifies a major step forward in measuring and monitoring the impact of culture on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the UN's 2030 Agenda.
